"Setting Your Research Group Culture"
When it comes to one’s research group, faculty may wonder how they can establish a positive and productive research group culture and what strategies they might pursue to better understand their own styles and the experiences of their students. This quarter’s pre-tenure workshop will help attendees develop their skills as a research group leader and learn how to build an inclusive, effective research group. Speakers Dr. Rebecca Neumann, Associate Professor of Civil & Environmental Engineering, and Dr. Daniel Kirschen, Donald W. and Ruth Mary Close Professor of Electrical & Computer Engineering will share their insights about soliciting feedback from graduate students, how to manage competing personality types, and how to evaluate one’s skills as a mentor.
