Dr. Carter Kimsey, Program Manager for Postdoctoral Fellowships in
Biology, NSF.

For the academic year just ending, Carter Kimsey has been Visiting
Scholar in the Department of Biology and the Center for Innovation in
Graduate Research and Education (CIRGE) at UW pursuing her interests
in the teaching of evolution and career development for young
scientists. She serves as Program Manager for Postdoctoral
Fellowships in Biology in the Directorate for Biological Sciences at
the National Science Foundation in Arlington, VA. She joined the
Federal service with the Environmental Protection Agency after
undergraduate study in chemistry at Old Dominion University and
graduate training in biochemistry at the University of Illinois-
Urbana. At NSF, her experience includes research progams in
metabolic biology, integrative biology, and special emphasis programs
for underrepresented minorities, women, and young investigators.
