Event: Revised Processes: ADVANCE/OLP Winter 2026 Leadership Workshop

In conjunction with the Opportunities in Leadership Program (OLP), UW ADVANCE offers cross-college quarterly leadership workshops that address leadership and faculty professional development issues and are intended to facilitate cross-college networks and interdisciplinary information exchange.

To be effective, faculty leaders must stay informed about changes to UW policies and processes and understand their changing roles and responsibilities. This workshop will address leaders’ roles in two recently revised processes: 25-71 (Standard of Conduct) and Civil Rights reporting, investigations, and checklists. 

This workshop on Revised Processes, will include:

  • Opening remarks by Fred Nafukho, Vice Provost, Office for Academic Personnel and Faculty (APF), Heather Horn, Vice President of UWHR, and Jane Yung, Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer.
  • Detailed information about and discussion of revised 25-71 processes. This topic will be led by Erin Rice, Assistant Vice President, Campus HR Operations and Service, and Lisa Hanna, Executive Director, Campus HR Operations and Service.
  • Information about and discussion of revised Civil Rights reporting, investigation processes, and the new Civil Rights Compliance checklists. This topic will be led by Jill Lee, Executive Director, Compliance and Review Officer, Compliance and Risk Services,  and Valery Richardson, Assistant Vice President and Title IX Coordinator, Civil Rights Compliance. 
  • Opportunities for faculty leaders to ask questions and to work together to build relevant skills.
