Mentoring workshops for faculty often focus on how faculty can be better mentors. But faculty also want to be mentored. As faculty, getting the mentoring you need to succeed can be challenging. In this workshop we reconceptualize mentoring and explore questions like
- How have your mentoring needs changed over time and career stage?
- Which mentoring needs have been met?
- Which mentoring needs have not yet been met?
- How can you better manage relationships with mentors?
- What makes mentoring relationships effective?
- How might you engage new mentors?
- How might you retire a mentor who is no longer needed or no longer useful?
