Train-the-Trainer Application

Applications are now closed for the October 26, 2015, LiY! Train-the-Trainer (T3) Workshop at the University of Washington (UW) in Seattle, WA.

Ideal LiY! T3 workshop participants are individuals who currently plan or want to plan, organize, and run workshops for faculty and have an interest in STEM faculty diversity and inclusion. The LiY! T3 October workshop will include 30 participants. To maximize LiY! program impact, one individual per institution (maximum) will be selected to participate in the T3 workshop. Up to $900 will be provided for each LiY! T3 workshop participant to cover travel, two nights lodging, and per diem expenses.

Why Attend the LiY! Train-the-Trainer (T3) Workshop?

LiY! T3 workshop participants will gain early access to the LiY! website’s workshop planning and community forum features before they become publicly available in exchange for sharing content and providing feedback on the LiY! website. Participants will work with UW ADVANCE team members and other colleagues to plan and execute their own LEAD-inspired workshop on faculty recruitment. Participants will also exchange ideas on how to best facilitate faculty workshops that advance STEM faculty diversity and inclusion.

What will be Expected of LiY! T3 Workshop Participants?

LiY! T3 workshop participants are expected to complete pre- and post-workshop activities including using the LiY! website to plan a workshop on faculty recruitment, contributing content to and providing feedback about the LiY! website, and participating in usability testing and program evaluation. All LiY! T3 workshop participants will be asked to plan a faculty recruitment workshop for their own institution using the LiY! website. Additional details about the pre-workshop tasks and deadlines, the LiY! T3 workshop agenda, and other activities will be distributed with the application decision notifications. Application decisions will be sent by July 15, 2015.
