What I Wish I Knew

Join UW ADVANCE on March 15th for an informal discussion on life and financial management. This event is a chance to stop and think about the topics that you often don’t have time to think about after your initial UW orientation, including: tips for transitioning to Seattle, how to select your benefits (insurance, retirement), financial planning, getting up and running as a faculty member at UW, etc. Marcie Hinthorne, Director of Planned Giving at UW, will be on hand to share resources around retirement and estate planning and provide an illustration of why it’s so important to start saving for retirement now. We will also have time for you to share your ideas about what you wish you knew when getting started at UW or what you are still wishing you knew now. This discussion will help UW ADVANCE understand what resources we can put together to help you be successful and will also inform a workshop we will offer for ADVANCE faculty in the Fall.
